Our office is based in the heart of The Retreat, which is home to almost 40 residents and our legendary book sale room. It all started here in 1837.

By Car

The Retreat is approximately 5 minutes by car from the M25 junction 20 (Watford-Hemel Hempstead/Aylesbury).

Take the A4251 turning from the roundabout signposted to Kings Langley. At the first roundabout take the second exit (Home Park Mill Lake Road) to the T junction, turn right (Station Road) and go past the railway station and under the low bridge, take the first left after the bridge (Abbots Road) and the entrance to The Retreat is immediately on your left. Follow the drive all the way up the estate passing the Almshouses in the middle until your reach the Office & Car Park.

By Train

Kings Langley is served by London Northwestern Railway from London Euston, or from the Midlands. Uniquely The Retreat has its own access directly on to the station at the top of Platform 4 (M25 end) if you are going to travel by train, please let a member of staff know so that we can open the gate for you!

Bus

Unfortunately, there are no bus services that pass The Retreat, the nearest services (operated by Arriva) are to Abbots Langley or Kings Langley which are both a considerable walk from us.
